As a child the 4th really only meant a late night of watching fireworks, playing outside all day with friends, and that my birthday was coming up! LOL
Now as an adult I'm really thankful for this day and most grateful for ALL the veterans who have sacrificed so much (and their families!) to protect us and our rights. I'm so thankful to live in this country where, especially as a woman, I am free to express my opinions and have my beliefs and not be harmed because of those opinions.
I also wanted to share with you an excellent blog from a friend of mine, which journals his father's experience during World War II.
